Subject: [wow] WoWowowoooohhhhh The Return of the Halloween Skate!!!!!!
Date: Mon, 29 Oct 2007 15:45:56 +0000
==STOP PRESS!!! EXTRA SKATE!!!==
Following the disruption of the Hallowe’en skate by inclement
meteorological conditions on Sunday, the skate has been re-scheduled for
8.00pm Wednesday. Yes, that’s right – Hallowe’en itself. So, on the
spookiest, scariest night of the year, you can join lots of spooky, scary
people in their spooky, scary costumes for a super spooky skate. Come
and be amazed. It’s not often we get an excuse to do this on the (f)right
night so don’t pass up this opportunity.
8.00pm, Serpentine Road bandstand.
The ghouls are out for someone’s blood. Remember: there’s safety in
numbers. Be there!!!!!!
Mwaggh ha ha has hahahahaha!!!!!!!
==LATER THIS WEEK==
FRIDAY Fresh from dazzling us with his bike riding performance last week,
Roger will be leading a merry band of skaters to Clapham. It's worth the
trip, if only for the fabulously smooth downhill on the return from
Clapham to Stockwell.

SUNDAY Continuing the ghostly theme, it’s a mystery tour on Sunday as
our Lead Marshal takes the Stroll into the depths of hell itself – or
somewhere else readily accessible from Hyde Park Corner. Join the
mystery Stroll and all will be revealed…

==LAST WEEK==
FRIDAY NIGHT IS MUSIC NIGHT
Remember your first time? Well, we do....! Ahem, anyhow, congrats to
Mel who completed her first London Friday Night Skate last week.
Although she had some leg curling cramps as we traversed Park Lane,
Mel stuck with it and finished the night by skating to the pub afterwards.
"My cramps were unbearable for a moment, but even so I had the best
fun ever," said Mel later. Not bad for a first time!
The LFNS Firebrox made a welcome return to the streets last week.
Although the 'brox is something of a group effort, a big thanks to LFNS
marshal Dan, who spent most of the last few weeks on his knees. You
see, when he wasn't having fun he was fixing 'brox-brakes. As usual his
efforts paid off, and on Friday the bike that is also sometimes called
Bryan whipped Markus and the crowd into a musical mind mush.
Not that it was a bad thing, with almost every skater privately singing
about how good it was to have the 'brox back. Now that's harmony.
Also up for a new experience last Friday was our very own Roggie. Not
blessed with the best of brains, we hid his skates on the 'brox and
said he
must ride the beast to the half way point. Although she had never ridden
a 'brox before, Roggina took to it like bruises to a gumbie. "Actually
I had
cramp in my bum, but an angel flew down from Islington and gave me a
buttock massage outside the Vic." Could have been worse, eh Roggie? If
you'd like a free bum massage in exchange for giving the 'brox a good
night out, let us know. "I'm always looking for new talent," said the
'brox
(in a very loud voice.)
SUNDAY – UNSPEAKABLE IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE
The Sunday Stroll and the Hallowe'en skate were both victims of the
weather.
The rain kept the ghosts and ghoulies off the streets of London but
anyone who wanted to see what they were missing could have joined the
party at the Vic where a startling array of fabulous costumes were
displayed on fabulous people. Special respect to lead marshal Sol,
mistress of sin. With Sol's permission, we'd also like to mention Khalil's
excellent impression of something horrid; and Aline for getting intimate
with a green spider. Fun though the aforementioned were, we'll probably
never eat another cabbie again having seen Sparky's cannibalistic
costume.

==A POSTCARD FROM CALIFORNIA==
About 100 miles South of San Francisco is the small seaside town of
Monterey. Sights include a rocky seafront. Cannary Row (featured in a
John Steinbeck novel of the same name), Fisherman's Warf and a marina.
And for the avid skater there is a bicycle track that runs from Lovers
Rock in Pacific Grove till the Northern end of Monterey. The trail is
slightly
rough (although Markus would laugh at me for saying so) but has not
steep bit. Since it goes past all the popular spots, it is a great way
to get
around.
==SORRY FOR THE DELAY. NORMAL CONFUSION HAS NOW BEEN RESUMED==
If this is the first WoW you've received for a few weeks, we humbly
apologise. Please rest assured that the reason for this is not due to us
having a lack of material to write, nor are you now receiving this because
we wish to advertise some new source of income for ourselves, disguised
as a genuine community interest article. Nope, it seems that due to the
recent server move, your email providers Spam filters have found an
excuse to junk the email.. We have kicked our techie geeks in the shins
several times and we believe that normal service should now resume.

==THEY’RE COMING TO TAKE US AWAY==
With the hordes of Hallowe’en horrors hastening toward us, we must flee
fleetly. So it’s a short (and early) WoW this week. Screams and other
feedback to the usual place
