==THIS WEEK==

FRIDAY: We've done it in the dark, and now we'll do it in broad
daylight. Yes, the last time we did this route it was deep midwinter.
This time spring is in the air and it should still be light when we
arrive at Hackney Town Hall for our half time stop. While this
probably means there will be no pretty lights adorning the trees, it
also means we should be able to see Haggerston Park and London Fields
in their full glory. Our freshly repaired and revamped Brox music bike
will be joining us for the night. We rather hope you will too. If you
don't want to go all the way, or maybe you even want to leave at half
time, there are frequent trains from Hackney Downs to Liverpool
Street, and more busses than you can shake a stick at. We meet at Hyde
Park Corner at 7:45pm. Please don't be late, as we plan to leave at
8pm sharp.

SUNDAY: We're keeping secret details of the forthcoming Sunday Stroll
for the time being. At this stage all we can say is that it will start
and finish at the usual place on Serpentine Road, and that it will
certainly be worth turning up for. We meet at 1:45 for a 2pm start.
See you there.

==LAST WEEK==

Following a week of rainy days and nights, last FRIDAY was a warm and
sunny evening. We don’t know whether it was the sunshine, or whether
it was simply the idea of going up the Arsenal, but whatever the
reason, last Friday saw Roggie lead a particularly jubilant bunch of
skaters up to the Emirates Stadium, home of the Arsenal. The outbound
route covered some of London’s busier roads, but the journey home
again seemed to weave through so many backstreets and alleys that even
a London cabbie would be proud of us. Either that or simply glad we
we’re in his way. If you were there you’ll know what we mean. If not,
check out the photos on our website.

SUNDAY saw us find Walham Green at last: This route had been postponed
twice by bad weather, but we can now reveal it's somewhere around
Fulham, slightly east of Parsons Green. Around 140 skaters plus a
fully fettled Firebrox (round wheels, straight steering, triangular
struts - our theme for 2008 is "geometry") had a chance to spread out
on the grass in the warm (slightly muggy, even) Sunday afternoon heat,
before returning via West Brompton and South Kensington. Theres a
small selection of sunsoaked photos on our web site.

==FORTHCOMING==

For all those who have been asking if we're having any one way skates
this year: the answer is YES. The first will be on Sunday 25th May and
will be heading eastwards to Victoria Park. More details nearer the time.

==WE NEED YOUR HELP==

Do you have a lockup, shed, garage or storage space within a few miles
of Hyde Park? Our present storage arrangement for the Firebrox music
bike is ending imminently, so we're looking for any secure space of
around 3 foot by 10 which we can access at evenings and weekends.

If we can't find cheap or free storage, commercial lockups start at
around £200/month. As a non-sponsored volunteer body we don't have the
kind of regular income to pay for that, so if you know of anything
suitable then please let us know, otherwise the skate might become
sadly silent.

If you could help you'd have the heartfelt thanks of hundreds of
skaters, and a plug for your business/university/church/hobby/sports
club on our web site, on the bike and in this newsletter. Formal
sponsorship arrangements are available too - contact us to discuss
details.

==THE LAST WORD==

This week's Editor doesn't do witty taglines. But if he did, they
would probably be the best witty taglines in the world.
