== THIS WEEK ==

The LONDON FRIDAY NIGHT SKATE is WAITING TO TAKE YOU AWAY. No, not
the funny farm, the Magical Mystery Tour - 12 miles of famous Beatles
London landmarks. We take in

* Marylebone High Street (57 Wimpole Street, home to Paul McCartney's
then girlfriend, Jane Asher)
* EMI House at 20 Manchester Square,
* Apple Boutique, 94 Baker Street. NO, this is NOT the Apple Store
and you can't have an iPod
* then north along smooth roads to Paul McCartney's London home, 7
Cavendish Avenue, St John's Wood and The Abbey road crossing and
studios before half time at St Johns Wood.
* The second half goes even further north so we can coast back into
town past Primrose Hill. Don't Fool on the Hill.
* back into Soho for Trident Studios, 17 St Anne's Court
* and finally down Haymarket past the Art Shop where John met (Yoko) Ono

On SUNDAY it's the BOL STROLL. A good one this week for tourists and
for Londoners who have lived here so long they never got around to
doing the tourist stuff - Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Houses
of Parliament, London Eye, Waterloo Bridge - with the best view
(either way) in London, Covent Garden, Piccadilly , etc. Half time at
the Royal Opera House, just under 7 miles. Great chance to try out
your Easter costumes before next week and see how they impress the
tourists.

== LAST WEEK ==

Skaters are reminded once again that you need to be able to control
your speed and stop on downhills - and some quite steep downhills on
Fridays. The poor chap who carommed into a stationary vehicle on
FRIDAY's Pentonville run was attended immediately by LFNS First
Aiders, and paramedics were on the scene within minutes. Happily he
regained consciousness quite quickly and hasn't suffered any lasting
damage.

On SUNDAY the whole skate stopped just as it was about to start, due to
last minute weather. We'll try that again some other time.

== NEXT WEEK ==

EASTER is only a week away. The Easter Skate you already know about,
but if you'd forgotten: next FRIDAY's skate starts an hour earlier
than usual - that's 7pm, and will be leaving from Serpentine Road
(usual Sunday start point) and SUNDAY's skate is in fancy dress.

Plus all the free workshoppy classy party-y (is that a word? is now)
goodness. See web site for details.
